Dr Ali Tahir

Ali did his PhD in Geoinformatics from the School of Computer Science and Informatics at University College Dublin, Ireland. His research activities include implicit feedback analysis, Geo-visualisation, and Web GIS.

He received his BSc degree in Computing and Information Systems in 2004 from Oxford Brookes University and subsequently a MSc degree in Geographical Information Science from University of Nottingham in 2006. Afterwards, he has worked as Lecturer in National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) in Pakistan until 2009. Ali has taught many GIS and IT courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. These include Web GIS, Advanced Geodatabase and Programming, Database and Information Systems, Computer Science in Practice, Software Engineering Project, Foundations of Computing and Online Support for Forensic Computing and Cybercrime Investigation. Currently Ali is working as a Research Assistant on the Seren project at the Geoenvironmental Research Centre.
