Claire graduated from Cardiff University in July 2009 with a First Class MEng(Hons) degree in Civil Engineering. During her undergraduate studies she selected appropriate modules which supported her interest in Geoenvironmental Engineering. Her undergraduate dissertation consisted of an experimental program using two compacted bentonites, concentrating specifically the water absorption behaviour of each when subjected to a range of relative humidities, using the vapour equilibrium technique. She began her PhD in October 2009.
