Dr. Erin Roberts

Dr Roberts is a Research Associate in the School of Social Sciences at Cardiff University with a background in Human Geography. She has experience of using multiple methods to explore a myriad of topics such as sustainable transitions and everyday life, and relational aspects of socio-ecological change with individuals, households, and communities in Wales. Her methodological strengths lie in qualitative research, particularly in-depth narrative, mobile and multi-modal/sensory interviewing methods, and the use of creative methodologies. Dr Roberts’ career thus far has been shaped by a long-standing interest in the affective and emotional interconnections between people and place, and how they change over time. These interests are taken forward in her work on FLEXIS as she explores the ways in which memories of lived experiences shape local perceptions of risk associated with novel low-carbon technologies.
