Dr Wu Gao

Dr Wu Gao holds a Ph.D. in Geotechnical and Geoenvironmental Engineering at Zhejiang University, China. Before his attendance in the Geoenvironmental Research Centre (GRC), Cardiff University in 2019, his research interests mainly focused on the geoenvironmental hazards of municipal solid waste landfills and sustainable technology. In the FLEXIS project, his main tasks were:

1.) to develop the /hydraulic/chemical/mechanical coupled model development for underground coal gasification (UCG),

2.) to numerically analyse the near-field cavity development, temperature transfer and syngas production during UCG

3.) to numerically analyse the near- and far-field strata stress/strain changes and deformations induced by UCG.
